about

For Love Or Money?

In the 1600’s, as a philosophical thought experiment, Dr. George Berkeley asked, "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

The Wood Floors have released over 60 albums in the last 19 years, either mainstream success has avoided them, or they never followed any map leading to the ears of the masses. They ponder their existence and sound on their latest release ‘For Love Or Money?’

“A new melody for you…to ignore,” Chris Howe sings on “Shit Like This.” It’s the opening (acoustic) and closing (in an epic full-band version) tune for the latest release.

The recording focuses on the personal questions of friendship, evolving desires, and the Floors seemingly endless drive to create music regardless of how many are in the crowd. While the emotions are personal, the themes are both passionate and universal making for some of their most accessible songs in terms of catchy hooks and polished production.

Clearly, at this point the Floors aren’t doing it for the money and “Love” has a powerful, charismatic sound when falling from your speakers.

Twenty years later James Jude joins the band bringing songwriting, vocals, and guitar abilities to the fold.
